Shiver in the River is a mission-centric fundraising event hosted by Keep Virginia Beautiful to garner support to strengthen community outreach and education, litter prevention, recycling and beautification programs in Virginia. The event will take place on Saturday, January 31 at Historic Tredegar on the James River waterfront in downtown Richmond, VA.
The Shiver in the River event includes an hour-long clean-up session along the banks and surrounding areas of the James, followed by a (quick!) dip in the James River. A celebratory Winter Festival will also take place during the event and will include food and beverage, vendors and music (and heated tents!).
Attendees who wish to participate in the James River Jump portion are asked to raise a minimum of $75, although fundraising for all events is encouraged. Incentives will be given for those who meet certain fundraising goals. Registration is required for all attendees.
